Frances Griffith, PhD. ATR-BC

Frances Griffith is a clinical-community psychologist, board-certified registered art therapist, and Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky in the Department of Psychology. She brings 15 years of experience as a researcher, clinician, consultant, and advocate. Her research focuses broadly on advancing mental health equity and substance use prevention for socially and economically marginalized adults and youth. Guided by implementation frameworks, she works to reduce intersecting social and structural care barriers through creative, participatory digital interventions. She is collaborating with Dr. Harper as a coinvestigator on an NIH-funded project and has a strong interest in financial health for people with psychiatric diagnoses via enhanced digital literacy and access to digital financial services. She uses generative and discriminative AI and varied mixed, participatory, and ecologically valid methods to support user-centered design of mHealth tools.
