Maya Abela is a supervisory attorney in the Tucson office of the Arizona Center for Disability Law (ACDL), the protection and advocacy agency in Arizona. Since joining ACDL in 2015, Maya has assisted clients with various disabilities to promote and protect their legal rights to independence, justice, and equality. Maya presently serves as the coordinator of ACDL’s Protection & Advocacy for Assistive Technology program. Prior to joining ACDL, Maya was a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC, representing the EPA in environmental enforcement cases. Maya is a 2009 graduate of the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law.
