Ethical and Policy Issues in Human Subject Research

Protecting the rights and welfare of those who volunteer to participate in research is a fundamental tenet of ethical research. Topics which may be addressed in this workshop include: recent history of biomedical research, research design, assessing risks and benefits, voluntary informed consent, and protecting privacy and confidentiality.
