Kermit Brown has over 19 years experience working within the Massachusetts mental health system, including inpatient treatment and mental health worker. He has been a Human Rights Officer (client advocate) for the Department of Mental Health for almost 14 years. He has been an active participant on numerous task forces and planning committees addressing coalition building, network development, rights and responsibilities of clients, rights and responsibilities of guardians, role of the advocate, informed consent, and awareness of issues facing minority treaters and clients. His chief focus has been protection & advocacy in the inpatient setting.
