There Are No Rules About Psychiatric Diagnosis... And That Must End!

Paula J. Caplan, Ph.D.

Psychiatric diagnosis is entirely unregulated, thus making it even less regulated than the financial institutions that have damaged this nation's economy. Massive harm results, for which there is currently no way to hold accountable those who are the "first cause" of the harm. Two major actions never taken before have proven this to be true. We will talk about ways to make needed changes.  Veterans' issues will be used as an example during the discussion.

Goals and Objectives

  1. The evidence that psychiatric diagnosis is totally unregulated.
  2. The kinds of harm that result from psychiatric diagnosis.
  3. Kinds of action that are needed in order to get some regulation, including lawsuits and Congressional hearings.
