Legal Strategies to End Solitary Confinement

This roundtable will discuss the particular impact of solitary confinement on prisoners with psychiatric disabilities, including the growing concentration of prisoners with psychiatric disabilities in locked down units and the disproportionate use of excessive force against this population.  The presentation will focus on ongoing litigation in California challenging conditions of confinement for prisoners with psychiatric disabilities.
