Anita Szigeti is a University of Toronto (1990) Law grad, member of the Ontario and Nunavut Bars. Principal lawyer of Anita Szigeti Advocates. She is a mental health law expert, criminal and civil. Co-Author: A Guide to Mental Disorder Law in Canadian Criminal Justice, A Guide to Consent and Capacity Law in Ontario, Halsbury’s Mental Health Law. President of the Law and Mental Disorder Association (LAMDA). Former Women’s Director of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association (CLA) and former Toronto Director and Chair, Mental Disorder Portfolio. Secretary of Women in Canadian Criminal Defence (WiCCD). Tribunal and appellate litigator. She teaches Trial Advocacy at the University of Toronto. Board Member: NARPA and Pilot Place Society. She has been counsel on many high-profile police shooting inquests.
