Karolina Pekala is a doctoral student at Long Island University, where she is a committed member of Psychologists for Social Responsibility. She believes that a major responsibility of students is to adopt a humane, empathetic, and open approach when working with those in distress. Her clinical interests include trauma, post-traumatic growth, and women's health. She earned her Master's in Clinical Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and her Bachelor of Arts in both Psychology and Politics from New York University. She is a certified sexual assault crisis counselor and has experience in a variety of inpatient and outpatient mental health settings.
