Sheina Murphy is a Consumer Advocate from Paducah, Kentucky. Sheina was self-employed as a Wedding Cake Designer when she became ill in 1995. After being diagnosed with Schizophrenia, she eventually became homeless, was made a Ward of the State, and was placed in a Personal Care Home. She began attending a Day Program and lots of trainings until she finally moved out on her own.
Sheina now serves on the Kentucky PAIMI Advisory Council, and sits on The Board of Directors of Four Rivers Behavioral Health. She was appointed by Governor Beshear to serve on Kentucky's Medical Assistance Council. Sheina works part-time as a self-employed Consultant on Mental Health Issues, being an Instructor for Peer Support, assisting with Crisis Intervention Team training for Law Enforcement, and speaking to third year Students majoring in Nursing, Pre-Med, Psychology, and Criminal Justice in Colleges.
