Noel Hunter is a clinical psychologist working in a private practice in New York City. Her work focuses on challenging the current illness paradigm, human rights, and the need for recognizing the role of adversity and trauma in emotional distress. She has published and presented papers on the link between trauma and psychosis, the trauma of involuntary hospitalization, and the need for recognition of states of extreme distress as meaningful responses to overwhelming life experiences.
