Steven Brock, J.D.

Steven Brock's practice is concentrated in the areas of insurance, toxic tort, environmental, and health law. He has broad experience in litigation and administrative proceedings, including national class actions, multi-district litigation, and complex appeals. Mr. Brock was previously an adjunct assistant professor at Touro Law Center, where he created and managed a mental disability law clinic under a federal grant and taught a law and psychiatry seminar. He has also worked with Nassau/Suffolk Law Services, where he managed their Mental Health Law Project, an eight-person office providing free legal representation on civil rights and entitlement issues. He has made presentations and published articles on a variety of legal topics, including law and psychiatry, Superfund, computer-assisted litigation support, the Nursing Home Reform Act, Medicaid, \"patient dumping,\" health care proxies, medical ethics, and patients' rights. Mr. Brock received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan School of Law in 1977. He also received an M.S. in mathematics and electrical engineering in 1974 and a B.M. in music theory and composition in 1972, both from Texas Tech University. He is a member of the New York bar and is admitted to practice before United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third, and Fifth Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
