Kateri Berasi is a doctoral student in clinical psychology at Long Island University, Post. Her clinical interests involve using a motivational and strengths-based approach in working with diverse young adult populations. Kateri co-leads a seminar, Safe Zone, educating first year doctoral students and university staff on LGBTQ concepts in order to increase their sensitivity, awareness, and knowledge of important issues that concern LGBTQ populations in order to inform best practices. She derives inspiration and support from the radical and community psychology movements.
