Becky Brasfield

Becky Brasfield is a Policy Research Assistant with the Behavioral Health Team at the Human Services Research Institute. She advocates for wellness and recovery, disability rights, and legal-system-impacted individuals. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Becky is a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) and Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP). She is an inaugural and current member of Disability Lead, an organization for emerging leaders with disabilities in Chicago. Becky also currently serves as Commissioner for the Southeast Expanded Mental Health Program in Chicago, Illinois. Becky has extensive experience in mental and behavioral health and wellness settings, primarily as a provider of direct peer services for over ten years.
